SEE postWhen expecting a baby, the joy of seeing your little one before birth is indescribable. We offer this service to provide a unique prenatal bonding experience for expectant mothers and their families. In this article, we will discuss the benefits of having an elective keepsake session at Love View Ultrasound.
2D Ultrasound is imaging technology that produces a black and white image using sound waves to create a picture. The sound waves can be manipulated to see at specific depths, and it allows us to see structures inside the body without the used of radiation. 3D is a still image produced by stacking hundreds of 2D images to make an accurate image of internal structures on in this case a precious baby. 4D is the ability for the machine to create this image in real time allowing motion to be captured. This is when we get to see you baby in action. Nothing will melt your heart like seeing you baby smile, hiccup, yawn, suck on its thumb or toe, and any other shenanigans baby might get up to during the session. Ultrasound imaging across years of research has not been shown or proven to cause tissue damage to mother or baby and when used correctly by qualified individuals is considered safe.
Pregnancy can be a stressful and emotional time for a Mom for many reason. Sometimes a mom just needs some reassurance that everything is going okay. There is no sweeter sound than your little ones hear beat. An elective scan can provide anxious moms with piece of mind. It’s a great way to help dad feel connected and involved with the pregnancy as well. It can be a long time from the conception of a baby until the time mom and even dad will get to feel those kicks. Elective ultrasound is a great way to get that bonding process going early, Seeing baby's movements, facial expressions, and reactions to outside stimulus is an experience that is impossible to forget and on you will cherish for a lifetime.
During the ultrasound mom will relax on our comfortable bed and warm gel will be applied to the baby bump to help guide the sound waves to baby. Our Sonographer will then make magic happen with a transducer that produces the sound waves and then listens for their echo to make the images. The session times vary depending on how far along moms are and what package has been selected. Images are printed and emailed to the family, the number of images will depend on the session type. A recording of the session is also available for purchase which comes in an MP4 format and will be provided on a custom USB along with all the images from the session.

FAQs
Q: How many guest can come to my session?
A: Love View can comfortably accommodate six addition guest (7 including Mom)
Q: When is the best time to have a 3D/4D ultrasound?
A: This is a tricky question. Pregnancy can be difficult to see on the tummy (transabdominal) prior to 6 weeks. Internally (transvaginal) we can visualize a fetus with a heartbeat at 5 weeks 4 days. We do not offer internal scans at Love View so to avoid causing any undue stress to our mommas we recommend Love at First Sight Session be done at any time after 7 weeks. And for the cutest early view we recommend 10 weeks. Gender scans can be done at 15 weeks however, we recommend 16 weeks so that baby’s anatomy is better defined. The longer 3D/4D session should be done some time after 24 weeks and can be done all the way up until delivery. For the best chance at clear images come from 27-32 weeks, this is the perfect combination of chubby cheeks and space to allow for the best viewing.
Q: Oh No, I just found out about 3D/4D and I’m past 32 weeks am I to far along?
A: We have a never say never motto at Love View, although it starts to get very cramped in the uterus around 32 weeks it is not impossible to get great images if there is good amniotic fluid and baby is in a good position.
Q: What can I do to help get good images?
A: Water, Water, Water. We cannot emphasize how important maternal hydration is to clear images. It also helps ensure that baby is making plenty of amniotic fluid which is what provides the “room” in the uterus for good face viewing. Please check with your doctor to see what your daily recommended water intake should be while pregnant.
Q: Will my insurance or Health Spending Account pay for my elective ultrasound?
A: No, 3D/4D Ultrasounds are no intended to be medical at all. They should never take the place of any medical care during your pregnancy. HSA and FSA accounts do not cover these scans for the same reason. Be wary of any elective service that is willing to accept your insurance. It could cause you out of pocket expenses for your medical scans later in your pregnancy.
