The state of tissue hydration is very evident by ultrasound. Dehydrated tissue creates blurry images like the one shown in the example.
Staying Hydrated during pregnancy can work wonders on some of those everyday pregnancy annoyances such as morning sickness, cramping and swelling. Although it might sound crazy, the more water you drink the less you will retain. Adequate hydration will help to fight off urinary tract infections keeping your system flushed and bacteria at bay. Hydrated maternal tissues, skin and muscle, will perform better through pregnancy as well as during labor and delivery allowing more elasticity and a quicker recovery time.
When it comes to ultrasound hydrated tissues, good amniotic fluid and a baby in a good position who is willing to cooperate is a winning combination. Good Hydration and Amniotic Fluid Volume (the amount of fluid in the sac with your baby) go hand in hand and is essential for the growth and development of baby. There are plenty of benefits to water drinking and pregnancy, we have only scratched the surface. But wait, before you start chugging water find out exactly how much you should be drinking. There is such a thing as to much. There are several reliable sources of information available to help mommy determine how much water you should be drinking during your pregnancy and what adjustments might need to be made for you specific needs.
